Catherine M. Thomas of Chambersburg, PA formally of Cheswick, PA passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026 at Chambersburg Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Cathy was born on August 28, 1942 in New Kensington to the late John and Angeline Gavasto Dombroski.

Cathy worked for many years at Big Lots Natrona Heights. She found great joy in sewing and treasured every opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren, friends and loved ones.

She is survived by her loving daughter Beth (Mark) Taylor of Greencastle, PA, cherished grandchildren Liam, Colin, and Amelia, brother, Michael (Penny) Dombroski, Niece, Dawn (Robert) Bradford and Nephew, Michael (Kate) Dombroski Jr. In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Louis Donald Thomas.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Chambersburg Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care, kindness and support they provided to Cathy throughout her time there.

A private service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery Lower Burrell, PA.
