Claude Kentner

December 9, 1947 — November 7, 2020

Claude L. Kentner, Jr. 72, of Fayetteville, PA passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Chambersburg Hospital. Born December 9, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Claude L. and Alverta Albert Kentner.

After graduating from North Hagerstown Senior High School, Claude proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was a combat veteran, serving in Vietnam. He was a member of Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion in Hagerstown, MD and a lifetime member of VFW Post 695 in Waynesboro, PA. He was a retired civil service employee. Claude enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking, but more than anything, he loved spending time with his family.

Claude is survived by his loving wife, Joyce A. Kentner, son’s, Claude L. Kentner III (Melanie) of NC and Raymond D. Kentner (Brandi) of MD; daughter, Amy S. Kentner of MD; sister, Rhonda Bowers (Lester) of MD; grandchildren, Ashley, Heather, Cassie, Nicki, Danny and Dawn; and great grandchild, Jericho.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of SimpleChoice Cremation Services, 1680 Orchard Dr., Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home followed by interment at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, 3218 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA. CDC social distancing and mask requirements will be in place.
