Cory Showers

Cory “Gator” Showers, 52, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024 in Chambersburg Hospital. Born October 17, 1971 in Gettysburg, PA he was the son of the late Jack D. and Shirley Ann (Hamilton) Showers.

Gator was a friend to all and the best friend anyone could have asked for. He had such a special love and bond with his children. His children were the light of his life. He loved taking them to places like Hershey Park and the movies or simply sitting down with them to watch TV shows or a movie from his extensive movie library. Gator was always the life of a party. He also loved riding motorcycles, eating good food, and telling such intense stories from his action packed life that sometimes, some wondered how real they were.

He is survived by a sister who was like a mother to him since he was young, Karena Woerner (David) of Gettysburg, PA; a brother Randall D. Showers of Gardners, PA; three children, Harley D. Swearman of Gardners, PA, Ember Showers of Greencastle, PA, and Jacob D. Showers of Waynesboro PA; two grandchildren, Kale and Hadley Swearman both of Gardners, PA; and two nephews that were like his own sons, Neven L. Singleton of Gardners, PA, and Brandon L. Rhodes of Gettysburg PA.
