Douglas G. McDonald, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021. Born in Martinsburg, WV on September 4, 1932 to the late Benjamin D. and Mary M. McDonald.
Douglas graduated from George Washington University and went on to work as a Micro-Biologist at Bethesda Naval Hospital, which he took great pride in.
He is survived by a sister, Josephine Stotler, Boonsboro, MD; his daughter, Pamela Ambrose and husband Ira of Bendersville; his son, Mark D. Gift and wife Rhonda of Chambersburg and grandchildren; Jeffrey, Faith, Katarina, Kiersten, Ira, Adam, Bryan and Adrianne. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren; McKenzey, Melody, Lexie, Macie, Courtney, Aubree and Baylee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George McDonald.
Services are private at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to SimpleChoice Cremation Services, Inc., Chambersburg, PA.
