Edward E. Gettle

Edward "Ed" E. Gettle, 80, of Newville, PA passed away Thursday July 9 2026 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born September 14, 1945 in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Thelma Fay (Naugle) Gettle.

Ed graduated from Big Spring High School in 1964 and served in the United States Army. After his service, he worked as a steel builder and retired from Rose Metal Systems.

Ed was such a loving husband to his wife of 56 years Mary, a warm and caring father to his two daughters, and adored spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. He also enjoyed watching football.

Ed is survived by his wife Mary E. (Young) Gettle; two daughters Tammi E. Gettle-Morris (husband John), and Tina F. Garman (husband Herman); one brother and sister, Robert Gettle, and Brenda Etter-McCoy; three loving grandchildren, Kenicia Kiner (husband Zeb), Koltin Gettle (wife Aly), and Brayson Garman; four adorable great-grandchildren, Zayne and Kegan Kiner, and Cade and Rylan Gettle; and several nieces and nephews.

A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family.
