Edward L. Clark, 79, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home in his favorite chair, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.
Born on December 4, 1946, Edward was the son of the late Ward Leo Clark and Viola Evelyn King, and was one of eleven children. From an early age, he learned the value of hard work, loyalty, and standing his ground---traits that followed him throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his military service, Edward entered the emerging field of technology, working as a salesman of computer components, while also pursuing his entrepreneurial spirit through the ownership and operation of several businesses.
Family was the center of Edward’s world. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he was always the first to step in when someone needed help—often before they even had to ask. He found his greatest joy in time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, where his softer side emerged through quiet moments, playful teasing, and the occasional candy bar or folded dollar slipped into a small hand. Watching his family grow was his proudest accomplishment.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife, Vergie Clark, his daughters; Natasha (husband Brook) and Shayla, his grandchildren; Cassidy (husband Reuben), Kacee (partner Brandon), Josie, Noah (wife Brianna), Elijah, Jacob, Luke and Brittney (husband James), his great-grandchildren; Arlo, Nehemiah, Ellyanna, Swayze, Jase, and Aleyah, his siblings; Rita (husband Ronnie), Ivaleann (husband Eugene), Belinda (husband Eddie), Cynthia (husband Harry), Deanna (husband Bobby), Terry (wife Wanda), and Tim (wife Kim).
He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Leo Clark Jr, his siblings; Larry, Allan and Angel, and his granddaughter Lydia.
Edward will be remembered as a steadfast family man, with a mischievous sense of humor, a legendary stubborn streak, and a heart that never wavered in its devotion to those he loved.
