Eugene R. Bartus Jr.

Eugene R. “Gene” Bartus Jr., 70, of Chambersburg, passed away Sunday, April 12 2026 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born November 28, 1955 in Jeannette, PA he was the son of the late Eugene R. Sr. and Audrey (Pedder)Bartus.

Gene graduated from Penn Trafford High School in Harrison City PA. He spent most of his early years in Western PA. Gene moved to the Chambersburg area while employed as a truck driver with D.M. Bowman retiring in 2000.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Mary Ann (Tribble)Bartus.

Gene is also survived by two children, Travis L. Carr of St. Thomas, PA., AND Bradley (Alicia) Carr of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Bryan, Avalyn, and Zion Carr; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Gene loved riding motorcycles, playing guitar, fishing, hunting camping, and spending time with family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date by the family.
