Gary “George” Murray, 74, of Greencastle, PA passed away Friday, September 22, 2023 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born July 31, 1949 in Frederick, MD he was the son of the late Lewis D. Murray, Sr. and Betty (Bartlett) Murray.
He was a graduate of Frederick High School, Frederick. From 1969 until 1972 Mr. Murray proudly served his country during Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, he started his 30-year career for the US Army Corp of Engineering as a Civil Engineering Tech.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge 1790 of Mercersburg, PA. He enjoyed working in his yard, and planting flowers, and visiting with his family and friends. His biggest enjoyment was sitting on his front porch watching nature and taking in the beautiful view of the country side.
George is survived by his husband and best friend of 33 years, Terry Unger; a sister Cindy Kay Fowler; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Donna Murray and a brother Lewis D. Murray, II.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to SimpleChoice Cremation Services, Chambersburg, PA.
