James Jay Lowe, 85, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Friday February 13, 2026. Born November 11, 1940 in Logansport, Indiana he was the son of the late Gerald R. and Lois E. (Kramer) Lowe, and was raised in Columbus, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy (Owen) Lowe, and a daughter, Karen Lowe of Towson, MD. In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by a sister Barbara, and a brother Richard.

Jim attended Ohio State University before serving in the Army Reserves and relocating to Michigan. He had a successful career as an Aerial Photogrammetrist and was co-owner of Air-Land Surveys from 1968 until 1980 in Clarkston MI. From 1980 until he retired in 2013, he owned Aerotronics Inc. in Waterford, Mi.

Jim was an avid reader of virtually any subject, especially when accompanied by a cup of coffee and a cat or two. He loved to travel and was particularly fond of New Mexico and southwest Colorado. He was a devoted husband and father who loved spending time with his loved ones. Jim was known for his sharp wit and sense of humor. He enjoyed being surrounded by art work of all kinds and listening to music.
