John G. Gerken

John G. Gerken, 92, of Summerville, SC, formerly of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026 surround by loved ones.

John was born June 8, 1933 in Port Jefferson, NY to the late John and Elizabeth Gerken.

After graduating from Sayville High School, John proudly served in the US Navy. After his military service, he joined the Suffolk County Police Dept (badge 573), retiring after 20 years.

Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his beloved first wife Margaret Ann Gerken, and his sister Rosmarie Harrison.

John is survived by his loving second wife Lynn Donohue Gerken, son Gary Gerken (Debra), Kevin Gerken (Linda), and Kenneth Gerken (Stefanie); 5 grandchildren Jason Gerken Angela Meslem, Jeremy Gerken (Hannah), Kristina Cooke (Tyler), and Samantha Gerken; seven great grandchildren, Shea Gerken Zakariya Meslem, Leila Meslem, Liam Gerken, Frankie Lynn Gerken, Lincoln Cooke, and Luka Cooke.

Interment will take place at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY at a later date.
