Kathleen Spaeth

Kathleen Spaeth, 80, of Greencastle, PA passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born July 29, 1945 in Cherry Hill, NJ she was the daughter of the late Martin and Catherine Schwartz.

She is survived by one child, Katie Russell and four grandchildren, Hannah, Gracie, Keith, Jr. and Zachary Russell. In addition to her parents Kathleen is preceded in death by a son, Michael Spaeth and a son-in-law Keith Russell, Sr.

Kathleen graduated in 1963 from Cherry Hill High School in New Jersey, she then moved on with her career as a data entry associate for many companies.

A true homebody at heart, she found her greatest joy in the simple yet meaningful cadence of everyday life. At home with her family was her sanctuary-a place filled with warmth, laughter, and the soft click of crochet hooks as she created handmade treasures for people she loved. Crafting wasn’t just a hobby for her; it was an act of love, each stitch carrying a piece of her kindness.

Above all else, Kathleen adored her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, the source of her biggest smiles, and the reason her heart was full. Whether she was cheering them on, spoiling them in the best possible ways, or simply holding them close, she poured every ounce of love she had into them.

Those who knew Kathleen will remember her as an amazing woman-creative, loving, steady, and deeply devoted to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, handmade memories, and a family forever shaped by her love.
