Kathryne Mary Hansell

• Kathryne “Kathy” Hansell (Keck), age 70, passed away October 1, 2026 in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, surrounded by the love of a family who will miss her beyond measure.

Kathy was born April 22, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late Christian and Dorothy Keck. Kathy led a happy, active, and fulfilling life centered around the people she loved most. Family was at the heart of her world, and she found great joy in being a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with those she loved, sewing beautiful things for her family, tending to her garden, and filling her days with the activities and people that brought her happiness.

She is survived by her husband, John Hansell; her three children, Joshua, Jacob, and Katie; and her beloved seven grandchildren, each of whom brought her tremendous joy and pride to her life.

Kathy leaves behind far more than memories. She leaves the love she poured into her family, the things she made with her own hands, the gardens she tended, the traditions she helped create, and a lasting place in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know and love her.

Her family will deeply miss her presence, her love, and the countless ways she made their lives brighter.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be considered in Kathy’s memory to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, an organization dedicated to inspiring a love of reading in children. 

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at a later date, where family and friends will gather to remember, celebrate, and share the many beautiful memories of a life well lived.
