In Celebration of the Life of Tina

Katina "Tina" Irene (Gabert) Espinosa was born October 5, 1972 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.                                                   Some people leave behind memories.  Others leave behind a way of living.  Tina Left both.

She believed that kindness should never be complicated.  If someone was hungry, she fed them.  If someone was hurting, she listened.  If someone needed a place to belong, her door was already open before they knocked.  She never measured generosity, never kept score, and never expected anything in return.  Loving people simply came naturally to her.

On July 2, 2026, Tina's story of a life so beautifully lived reached its final chapter, but the story of her love was only beginning.       Tina understood something many of us spend our entire lives trying to learn:  happiness isn't found in having more.  It's found in giving more, laughing more, forgiving more, and loving without hesitation.

Tina's greatest pride was her family.  She poured herself into the people she loved, especially her granddaughters, giving them not only a home, but a foundation built on patience, encouragement, and unconditional love.  Those gifts don't disappear.  They become of part of the people we are, passed from one generation to the next like a light that never goes out.

If you knew Tina, you probably have a story.  A meal she cooked.  A conversation she stayed up late to have.  A hug that come exactly when you needed it.  A laugh that somehow made everything seem okay again.  She collected moments, not possessions.  She measured wealth in relationships, not dollars.  By every measure that truly matters, she lived an extraordinarily rich life.

She loved flowers, especially Zinnias.  They bloom boldly, brightening every garden they touch, and scatter seeds that return year after year in places you least expect.  Somehow, that seems fitting.  Tina lived the same way.  She planted goodness everywhere she went, often without realizing it, and now those seeds continue to bloom in every life she touched.

Her family asks that, instead of dwelling on how she left this world, you remember how she filled it.  Tell a story that makes you laugh.  Share a meal with someone who needs company.  Open your door.  Offer forgiveness.  Plant some Zinnias.  Be the reason someone believes there is still goodness in the world.  That is how Tina lived.  That is how she would want to be remembered.  So today, we don't say goodbye.  We say thank you.  Thank you for every lesson you taught without speaking.  Thank you for every life you changed without realizing it.  Thank you for showing us that ordinary people can leave extraordinary legacies simply by choosing love, every single day.

Every summer, when the Zinnias bloom beneath a warm July sun, we'll look to the heavens and smile, because we will remember the beautiful woman who taught us that love never really leaves, it simply finds new places to grow.

She is survived by three children, Harley Shoop, Chavez Espinosa, and Autumn Truax.

Our family will be planning a Celebration of Life for my mom, and we would love for it to be open to the public.  Come share a story, share a smile, maybe a hug or two, and let's honor the beautiful person my mom was!  Arrangements coming soon.
