Margaret (Marge) Elaine (Denning) Angerer died at 12:22 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Paramount Nursing Center, Fayetteville, Pennsylvania.
Marge was born July 16, 1948, in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Linus and Theresia (Volz) Denning. She was raised on a farm near the Perry/Spencer County line with her four siblings. She graduated from Dale High School in 1966 and the former Saint Benedict College, Ferdinand, Indiana, in 1969 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She received her Master’s Degree in Education from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Indiana, in 1972.
On May 29, 1971, she married Larry R. Angerer of Jasper, Indiana, in St. Meinrad, Indiana. Following their wedding they moved to the Washington, D.C. area where she taught elementary school at St. Thomas More Cathedral School in Arlington, Virginia. She later accepted a position with the Internal Revenue Service. In 1975 Marge and Larry transferred overseas. They remained overseas until 1986. Upon return to the U.S., Marge accepted a position with the U.S. Government. She remained in that position until retiring in 1996. The family then returned to Jasper, Indiana, remaining there until 2013. In order to be closer to family they relocated to Pennsylvania in 2014.
Marge was devoted to her family and friends, especially her two grandchildren who she loved immensely. She was an avid reader and loved working outside tending to her flowerbeds. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Larry of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania; son Jonathan, daughter-in-law Erin, granddaughter Justine, grandson Joshua, all of Silver Spring, Maryland; two brothers, Charles Denning (Karen) of Lake Placid, Florida, and Edward Denning of St. Meinrad, Indiana; two sisters, Ruth Denning of St. Meinrad, Indiana, and Mary Berger (Allen) of Ferdinand, Indiana; and nieces and nephews.
