Marjorie Guyer

Marjorie A. “Marge” Guyer, 93, of Orrstown, PA passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 in Paramount Senior Living, Fayetteville, PA. Born November 11, 1930 in Altoona, PA she was the daughter of the late John V. and Edna Cramer. Marge graduated from Altoona High School in 1948 and later moved to Washington, D.C., after which she lived in Italy, Germany, and Texas. She then moved to Columbus, OH before returning to Pennsylvania in 2008.

She was a voracious reader from child on and no matter where she was living, she was seldom seen without a book in her hand and a number of others waiting to be read. Libraries and librarians were her best friends.

She is survived by her beloved son, David E. Bowers of Boulder, CO; step-daughter, Lee Ann Hoover and her husband Randy of Orrstown, their daughters, Courtney Freeman and Chesley Hoover; and close friend, Ruthie Smith of Columbus, OH. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved and missed son, Bennet L. Bowers, II; brother, John “Jack” Cramer and his wife Virginia; step-mother, Elfie P. Cramer; first husband, Bennett L. Bowers, Jr.; second husband, Charles W. Schuman; and third husband, Alfred B. Guyer, Jr.
