Phyllis Irene (Shank) Patterson, 77, of Chambersburg departed this life at home in her own bed on Saturday, May 22nd 2021 around 7:30am. Phyllis was born on February 9th, 1944 in Warfordsburg, PA (Buck Valley) to Boyd & Marie Shank.
Phyllis enjoyed riding bikes with her husband, Ray, yard sales and she walked and jogged around 700 miles a year stopping here and there to talk with neighborhood friends on her travels for more than 20 years. Phyllis fiercely fought her battle with pancreatic cancer for almost two years. Anytime someone asked how they were, Ray would always say pretty good, she’s pretty and I’m good. That always made Phyllis smile. They would have celebrated their 58th anniversary on June 30, 2021.
She is survived by her husband Raymond. Three children Cindy Diane (Larry Edward) Tosten, Jr. of Chambersburg, Jamie Ray (companion Millie) Patterson of Fayetteville, and Kevin Ray Patterson of Chambersburg. Four grandchildren Stephanie Marie Bryan (fiancé Steve Vance), Nicole Lynn Smith both of Chambersburg, Larry Edward Tosten III (Meighan) of Shawnee, Oklahoma & Jaylin Ranee Patterson of Chambersburg. Two sisters, Verna Stevens of Needmore and Delores Meek of Harrisburg, Two brothers Lauren Shank Sr. (Nancy) of Chambersburg and Thomas Shank of Orrtanna. Eight great grandchildren Mason, Isabella, Larry IV, Jordyn, Lincoln, Bryceton, Dorothy Jane & Sullivan and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, E. Dean Shank
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 5th at Grand Point Church 2230 Grand Point Rd. Chambersburg. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday morning in the church.
