Ronald “Buck” Holtry, 84, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in The Shook Home following a brief illness. Born March 22, 1939 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Harvey J. Holtry, Sr. and Sarah E. Hendricks Holtry.
Buck was employed for 44 years as a trackman with the railroad, retiring from Norfolk Southern Railway. He was a life member of the Landis-McCleaf Marine Corps, Sons of Burt J. Asper American Legion Post 46, and the Sons of AMVETS all in Chambersburg. He was also a member of the Franklin County AARP. Buck loved riding his motorcycles and classic cars and trucks.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Anne Michele (Costello) Holtry; two sons, Mark G. Holtry (Dianne E Elsom), and Eric J. Holtry; one grandson, Raylan J. Holtry; one step-grandson Melvin Gilbert, IV; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters. He was the last of his immediate family.
A celebration of life for Ronald will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to SimpleChoice Cremation Services Inc. of Chambersburg.
