Tyrone A. Baltimore Sr.

Tyrone Adam Baltimore Sr., age 86, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 4, 2026, in Chambersburg.

Tyrone was born on February 2, 1940, and was raised in Richmond, Virginia.

Guided by a lifelong interest in logistics, he attended both Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Richmond to study transportation. Tyrone proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years of active duty, spending three of those memorable years stationed in Europe.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

His dedicated career in transportation spanned decades. Tyrone worked for Roadway Express in Chambersburg, retiring after 27 years of loyal service. Retiring just once wasn't enough; he later returned to work for Roadway in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, for another six years before retiring a second time.

In his retirement, Tyrone channeled his love for nature into learning. He completed the Master Gardener program through the Penn State Extension office, proudly earning the title of Master Gardener.

Tyrone was an avid runner in his younger years and a dedicated member of the Chambersburg Road Runners Club, where he loved competing in 5k races while his health allowed. He found peace and joy in the outdoors, especially when visiting Kings Gap and Skyline Drive, admiring nature, and listening for birds.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Leonard Baltimore and Goldie Mae (Collins) Baltimore; his beloved wife, Carla Elizabeth (Shatzer) Baltimore; and his son, Tyrone Adam Baltimore Jr.

Tyrone’s legacy lives on through his loving family. He is survived by his sister, Sybil (Baltimore) McCabe of Amelia, Virginia, along with her children and grandchildren; his daughter, Sarah (Baltimore) Holtry, and her husband, Todd; and his seven cherished grandchildren: Andrew, Kierstin, Maggie, Brody, Luke, and Finn Holtry, and Layla Baltimore.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 6:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 50 Ragged Edge Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202.
