Our Experienced Staff

Each of the staff members at SimpleChoice Cremation Services Inc. are committed to providing your family with the finest in personal care. In fact, for years, it’s been comforting for area families to know that we are available to help at any time of the day or night.

When a loved one dies, all you need to do is make one phone call. From that moment on, we’ll take on the responsibilities of the physical care of your loved one, and the emotional care of those left behind.

SueEllen Hatmaker - Office Manager

  • About SueEllen

    Sue was born in Clearfield, PA and raised in Indiana, PA.  She graduated from Indiana Area Senior High School with the Class of 1981.  During that year, she also received a certification from Wilma Boyd Career School, Pittsburgh, PA which provided her with the skills to become a travel agent.  In 1985, Sue relocated to Harrisburg where she worked as a retail manager/training supervisor.  Within that time, she got married and had a son Britain in 1991.  In 1994 she made Chambersburg her home and has been here ever since.  In 1996 she had her second child, Ali.  She stayed at home to raise her children until 2005, when she began her career at AAA in the customer service membership department.   She then became a travel agent maintaining that position until 2020. Sue accepted the position at SimpleChoice Cremation Services, Inc. starting in April 2022.  She fell in love with the position the first month she was here.  Sue enjoys antiquing, shopping, traveling, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Erika McKissick - Supervisor

  • About Erika

    Erika grew up in Chambersburg, PA, where she graduated from the Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 2010.  She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social and Natural Sciences from Juniata College in 2014.  Upon graduation from Juniata, she attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, graduating in 2015 with an Associate Degree in Specialized Technology in Funeral Service. Erika joined SimpleChoice Cremation Services in September 2020, with five years of experience as a licensed funeral director. She attends Grand Point Church with her family and she is also a member of Rotaract of Franklin County.

Nicole A Hopkins - Associate

  • About Nicole

    A native of Fulton County, Nicole was raised in McConnellsburg until 1996, when her family moved to Franklin County.  She graduated from Hagerstown Business College in 2001 with an Associate Degree in Accounting/Business Administration.   She found her love for the funeral industry in 2005 when she started working at Parklawns Memorial Gardens and the Robert L. Hendricks Funeral Home, where she was involved with the planning of hundreds of services during her 13 ½ years.  Nicole joined SimpleChoice Cremation Services in December, 2020 as our new Location Manager.  She resides in Chambersburg with her three sons: Bryce, Colton, and Luke.  When not busy with kids or work, she enjoys her quiet time doing adult color and diamond paint, as well as traveling.
